JOHN TAYLOR - Web design and Poster
 |
When John played Dandini in the 1993 version of Cinderella,
the following was written in the programme biographies, "John is really the
star of CATS and excels in everything he does!" Of course, he was the programme
editor so a little favouritism is expected!
John, or JT as he is often
called, has been involved in every aspect of a show's development except for
costume design, although he has been known to make his own costumes; acting,
directing, producing, lighting, sound and he even does the quiz for the
Christmas games night! He has directed 6 plays, the most recent being "Daisy
Pulls it Off." The other five are "Trivial Pursuits" "Sleeping Beauty" "Run for
your Wife" "The Wizard of Oz" and the 1992 version of "Dick Whittington." JT is
also responsible for the maintenance of the CATS website, although you'll be
glad to hear that he didn't write these biographies! He has also designed the
posters and programmes for several shows with CATS as well as other societies.
Not content with doing all that for CATS, John has also travelled to be
in other societies' shows: Crowthorne Musical Players where in one play he
played a 65 year old American Senator, and Quince Players - where he had his
worst role as Frith, the butler in "Rebecca". For the Quince Players he also
took on the role of the character Sparkish, complete with huge wigs, make up
and beauty spots! He has also worked with the Savoy Singers in Noel Coward's
"Bitter Suite" and KT Productions version of Alan Ayckborne's "Absurd Person
Singular". His tally for the last 11 years is acting in 29 plays and directing
6!
John's favourite role was Garry from Noises Off. |
