SANCHA TETLOW - Assistant Director
 |
Sancha is 32, and works as a press officer at the Met Office.
Before moving to Bracknell in November and joining CATS in February she had not
been a member of an amateur theatrical society. However her links with the
theatrical world are many and varied. As a youngster she studied Theatre
Studies up to A level and appeared in numerous productions, including playing
the female lead Jean in The Entertainer and Death in The Revenger's Tragedy. At
the age of 15 she took part in a workshop with Cornwall-based professional
theatre company Kneehigh and for the next seven years she occasionally worked
with them, as general dogsbody, learning about the business in detail. It was
seeing how it was done properly which put her off ever appearing in stage again
and she now only works backstage. At 21 Sancha became a professional journalist
and although she worked as news reporter and a health correspondent, she
preferred working as a theatre critic (for which she was short-listed for a
national award from The Stage and TMA, losing out to a leading,
well-established critic). During her time as a showbiz reporter she interviewed
and hob-nobbed with the likes of Catherine Zeta-Jones, Hugh Grant and Ewan
McGregor. Getting free theatre tickets is the only thing she misses about
journalism. |
